Had to get up at 7am (unlike my usual 9am or later) to get to Tsim Sha Tsui to see the Airbus A380 up close.
I
got there just before 8am, and unsuprisingly there were already a big
crowd of keen photographers waiting. Some were also in their suits too.
After the arrival of two partol helicopters, the A380 made her way over us. Here's the first fly-over:
She
was surprisingly quiet, just as I gathered on the news. If it was the
Boeing 747, we would have become deaf from that distance - a flight
altitude of just under 2000 feet only, closely matching the IFC's
height. Even the noise coming out from the MTR ventilation shaft was
louder than the plane!
Second fly-over:
The
slight let-down was that the A380 flew closer to the Tsim Sha Tsui side
than to the Hong Kong Island side, so I couldn't get any shots of the
airplane in front of the skyscrapers.
I heard if the weather is
ideal tomorrow morning, the A380 may do another flight over the
harbour. If I can wake up even earlier tomorrow then I may consider
taking my camera to the Hong Kong Island side (ideally The Peak).
