I was having restore problem on a 8G 3HK iPhone, I was unable to use restore in either itunes in normal way or recovery mode. iPhone stuck in the "Recovery Mode" screen always after it boots up.
The restore problem usually comes with some sort of error codes: 5, 1602, 1604....
** Here is the tip:
In order to goes back to normal boot, start Quickpwn225, Quickpwn should say something u should prower off your iphone for 15 secs(for iphone), but actually 6 secs is ok.
I tried holding the "POWER" + "HOME" button for power off and make a count to 6 secs, release both buttons before the iphone boots up, wait 5 secs, press the "POWER" button for 2 secs to boot up. This works. Just try some couple times. I hardly find a solution for this in google......
This should start your iphone normally.
Another tip:
Press the "POWER" + "口" together to power off,
hold both keys until reboot,
release the "POWER" button and continue holding the "口",
while holding the "口",
plug-in the USB cable connect with iTunes,
wait until PC recognize your iPhone (with new device sound),
release the "口".....
it should be okay to boot up again....

再將部iphone 連上 iTurnes 直至iTurnes認得到部iPhone 先放下面個 [口]...
之後就應該可以回復到開返機...
Check the following if u can't upgrade / restore iphone via itunes.
- prepare a notebook if it really screw up in your PC, in most cases, use another PC will work (or a MAC)
- iTunes version (I use 8.02.22)
- use different USB port to connect (do not use USB hub, direct connect USB cable to one of the back slots)
- Start itunes and do restore after a fresh reboot on your PC
- open Control Panel --> Services
- check if these services are stopped
- Terminal Services
- Telnet
- Messenger
Changed them to Auto and activated

- Messenger
If restore can't do, and u really need to restore
- power off your iphone by pressing "HOME" + "POWER" (5~6 secs)
- unplug USB from PC, wait 3 secs,
- power on and wait for the recovery screen
- plug in USB cable
- restart itunes
- itunes should prompt for saying "Check.....", just ok it
- press restore
JB problem - QuickPwn stops at "waiting to connect while in recovery mode"
- open Control Panel --> Services
- check if these services are stopped
- Terminal Services
- Telnet
- Messenger
Changed them to Auto and activated
unplug iphone, reboot your iphone to "Normal" as state above **
restart Quickpwn225-2, this should pass the waiting....

1. 將iPhone連上電腦,然後將iPhone關機
2. 同時按住開關機鍵和home鍵
3. 當你看見白色的蘋果logo時，請松開開關機鍵，並繼續保持按住home鍵。
4. 開啟iTunes，等待其提示你進行恢復模式後，即可按住鍵盤上的shift鍵，點擊“恢復”，選擇相應的固件進行恢復。
第二個方法：DFU恢復模式
1. 用USB線將iPhone連接上電腦，然後你將會聽見電腦已連接成功的提示聲音。
2. 現在請先將iPhone關機，然後你將會聽見電腦未連接成功的提示聲音。
3. 請同時按住開關機鍵和home鍵，持續到第10秒的時候，請立即松開開關鍵，並繼續保持按住home鍵。
4. 這個時候iTunes會自動啟動，並提示你進行恢復模式（iPhone會一直保持黑屏狀態）。那麼你就可以按住鍵盤上的shift鍵，點擊“恢復”，選擇相應的固件進行恢復。
DFU mode doesn't boot up the "mac os" on iPhone - therefore it doesn't communicate with iTunes "as much" as in Restore mode and iTunes can't decide to interrupt downgrading the firmware etc.!!
The restore mode is the one everyone tells you to use (with iTunes icon etc. at the end) while DFU mode works this way:
1. Connect iPhone to Mac/PC - keep iTunes open
2. hold down power and home button
3. wait until red slider appears to shut down iPhone, keep holding down the buttons, count 4-5 seconds (while iPhone shuts down)
4. release power-button, keep home button pressed (there should be no Apple logo! If it appears, you waited too long to release the powerbutton - try again
5. wait 5-10 seconds - iTunes should then prompt that there's an iPhone connected in "restore mode"

The philosophy behind this ROM is to have a small/optimized OS that could be easily personnalized. That's why I've only included small apps that don't evolve so much. Upgrade Instructions:- FIRST OF ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW WETHER YOUR PHONE IS BRANDED OR UNBRANDED
- ALSO BE SURE TO HAVE A BACKUP OF YOUR NV2 (it should be made automatically if you flash in non-emergency mode)
- Depending on your phone, move the files from branded or unbranded folder into root rom folder (so that they are side by side with flash.bin). You should now have a folder containing 10 mbn files + 1 bin file. Note that if your phone is branded, you need to use branded folder files, not doing so may result in phone not functionning anymore. The same goes for unbranded. (if you made a mistake, don't panic, you should be able to recover a working phone by reading raykisi thread listed below)
- If you want to use UC pack, it's time to unpack it to your SD Card
- Connect Ks20 to LgMdp as described here
- Choose "Select Image", then click on "Original" button
- On the first line, select the folder where you expanded the rom. Following lines should be filled automatically
- Click on start and pray
- When flash is finished (within approximately 10min.), ks20 should reboot twice (once as usual for Lg drivers initialization, then for UC), so just wait a few minutes more.
A few notes:
::Note that I didn't test Unbranded versions as I have a branded phone, but theorically they should work as expected.
::Note on UC : if you want to use UC, don't forget to put files on SdCard root before flashing. If you use my predefined package, you can tweak it before rom installation by modifying provided sdconfig.txt. Also Windows live is not installed automatically (it's provided in "CAB+" UC package folder)
::Manila2D : as it's still in beta version with multiple cab files, it's not included in UC for now. I'll release a package to install it manually before the week end.

三,install LG usb driver,之後要入部機打2676625720#去Eng.menu set(Portsetting-Diag Setting-UsbSwitching-LG Composite,揀Dun,diag後softreset.部機才入到USB mode.
四,LGMDP解壓後必用LGMDP_EURO(其他有問題)內的exe,跟住connect phone,(no phone,不能的重覆二),揀nv backup,先做 backup!!!
五,揀Download,可再做多次 backup或跳過,去select image揀番10b rom.nv後Start便可,約十五分鐘左右完成.
六,成功後會reset,全部會重新設定,去設定-系統-系統資訊-版本資訊內check下是否10b?
七,恭喜你成功upgrade了,重新裝過你用的program!

Updates on "SELF" Flashing KS20 - It is a risky process, do it at your own risks.....
These are the simple steps....I will try to write a complete steps afterwards....

Suggested to Hard reset the KS20 after flashing once after flashing to clean up everything like calibrating settings...
- Extract File --> Extract it with (7zip , winrar , winzip)
- Download and install LG USB Driver in your PC
- Download LG_EURO (Flash Client)

LG KS20 ROM Cooking Preparation

Please read before doing any thing:
This is a very risky experiment, it contains very high risk on damaging your KS20 (might void warranty), so please "THINK" before doing any flashing.
Finally I am starting decomposition of our KS20 ROM.
ROM File consists of boot.bin、os.bin、foot.bin 三部分.
OS.bin is the raw file ready for dumping into SYS and OEM Files.
10b ROM file structure:
BOOT.BIN 1,276kb
FOOT.BIN 4,224kb
OS.BIN 66,176kb
而其中 OS.BIN will dump into 137MB (3612 files) --> 即係我地 clean boot 後 KS20裡所有 Files.
Somebody has installed successful with a 10b OS with 10f Radio.
1、具體過程是我先將原flash.bin截取成boot.bin、os.bin、foot.bin三部分 ，os.bin經過處進一步處理，生成OS.nb.payload.payload，是一個標準格式的raw檔，等同于英文raw格式rom part02.raw,然後分解成dump.
2、合成步驟同上面步驟恰好相反，生成一個新的os.bin，並加上頭尾boot.bin、foot.bin檔，即是一個新的flash.bin。關鍵是boot.bin頭（十六進位數值E9FDFF前的那部分 ）不要弄錯，否則有可能刷成磚頭！！
** 刷機不僅僅刷取flash.bin，是所有的＊.mbn和＊.bin文件LG KS20定制工具
注意一：使用本工具之前，請用LGMDP_EURO.exe備份您的*.nv2文件，這點非常 重要！！忘了備份nv檔，刷ROM後會失imei號等資訊！
注意二：這個工具僅僅適用於法文v10f當中的flash.bin的分解，如果您用於其他rom分解，請修 改兩個相應的數值
分別位於dump.bat的兩條命令中：
.\Tools\Split flash.bin 20227
.\Tools\Split flash.bin-2.bin 3D5E8FB
修改方法：用winhex打開flash.bin，搜索十六進位數值“E9FDFF”，用e9對應的偏移值 替換“20227”；到bin檔末尾，找到“0000000000000000000”，“00”對應的 偏移值替換“3D5E8FB"
工具使用方法：
1、將＊.dz rom檔放到工具檔夾，用滑鼠拖動到dz2bin.bat上，解開＊.dz，生成＊.mbn,*.bi n在rom文件夾中。
2、運行dump.bat,分解成dump文件夾
3、對dump檔夾進行編輯
4、運行build.bat合成，生成flash_new.bin
5、將flash_new.bin複製到rom檔夾，並改名為flash.bin
6、運行LGMDP_EURO.exe刷機
